Run jets 10 minutes. This concentrates the flow resulting in a deeper cleaning. Twisting a whirlpool jet nozzle or ring vigorously in the wrong direction may cause it to release from the side of the tub. I used the turn on the whirlpool every 2 weeks to clean out when my daughter lived at home and used the tub with bathtub salts oils bubbles etc but since she left home i did not start it and the motor seized.

Close the jets on a whirlpool to focus the flow on one area. Closing the induction valves forces water to circulate only through the internal plumbing of the tub. Instead of replacing the tub i know it would be a lot cheaper just to plug the holes. The tub specialist just left and had me under the skirt to see how snow white my pvc drainage pipes were and said he had never seen a unit this clean in over 30 years with that much use.

Clean all jet parts and clean and rinse tub. Fill the tub with hot water to 2 3 in 5 1 7 6 cm above the highest jets. Turn the hot water on and let it fill the tub. Turn it off when the jets are covered by 2 3 in 5 1 7 6 cm of water.

With the valves closed or not. Add 2 tablespoons tsp and 4 oz bleach.
